CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – May 6, 2014 - Percival E. Clouden, chief executive officer of the V.I. Economic Development Authority, announces that a show cause hearing for the Economic Development Commission will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the VIEDA’s office’s at the William D. Roebuck Industrial Park, No. 4 Estate Negro Bay, Frederiksted, St. Croix, USVI; and via video conference feed at 8000 Nisky Shopping Center, Suite 620, St. Thomas, USVI, for one business. Representatives of the business will appear to show cause why their tax exemption benefits should not be revoked, suspended, or modified for alleged violations of its Economic Development Commission Certificate. All interested persons are hereby notified in accordance with Section 722 Chapter 12 of Title 29, Virgin Islands Code, as amended.
Public Hearing: Immediately following the show cause hearing, a public hearing will be held by the Economic Development Commission at the aforesaid locations on applications submitted by three businesses. All interested persons are hereby notified in accordance with Section 717 Chapter 12 of Title 29, Virgin Islands Code, as amended.
Governing Board Decision Meeting: Following the public hearing, a Governing Board Decision Meeting will also be held by the VIEDA, Economic Development Commission, Government Development Bank, and the Small Business Development Agency at the aforesaid locations on applications and matters which may be brought to the appropriate Board for action. All interested persons are hereby notified in accordance with Section 254 Chapter 15 of Title 1, Virgin Islands Code, as amended.
Please be advised that the VIEDA Board of Directors, and its subsidiary Boards, may go into executive session with respect to any decision at any time during the meeting as provided in Title 1 Virgin Islands Code Section 254(b).
