CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U. S. Virgin Islands – June 1, 2021 -- The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority's (VIEDA) Business Incubator Program is inviting entrepreneurs, start-ups, and those interested in starting a business to virtually attend this week's "Wednesday Webinars" titled, "Learn about Business Incubator Program", on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM AST.
The Incubator Program is designed to help new and start-up businesses develop into full-fledged businesses by providing management training and other assistance enabling these businesses to grow and contribute to the economic development of the Territory.
The influx of business activity to the Territory has had an enormous residual effect on our local community residents who are seeking entrepreneurship opportunities. With a steady focus on entrepreneurship it is imperative that there is a place of refuge for support services, information and guidance.
According to a recent study funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration-Incubating Success: “Business incubation programs are designed to accelerate the successful development of entrepreneurial companies through an array of business support resources and services, developed or orchestrated by the incubation program manager, and offered both in the incubator and through its network of contacts. A business incubation program’s main goal is to produce successful firms that will leave the program financially viable and freestanding. Critical to the definition of an incubator is the provision of management guidance, technical assistance, and consulting tailored to the needs of new enterprises.
