"Wednesday Webinars" Recruitment of Jobseekers with Disabilities in the Service Industry

Do you own a restaurant, bar or a service type of business? In celebrating the 31st Anniversary, VI EDA along with the Disability Rights Center of the VI are providing a training on best practices for recruiting people with disabilities. There is a labor shortage and this is a good time to diversify your workforce to include people with disabilities. In this training you will learn where to find qualified jobseekers with disabilities as well as reasonable accommodations.

VIEDA Offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix will be Closed to the Public

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U. S. Virgin Islands – July 8, 2021 – The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) advises the general public that the VIEDA office in the St. Thomas-St. John district will be closed on Friday, July 9, 2021 and operations are expected to resume at 8AM on Monday, July 12, 2021.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U. S. Virgin Islands – July 7, 2021 – Wayne L. Biggs, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (“VIEDA”), announces that the VIEDA office in the Districts of St. Thomas-St. John and St. Croix will be closed to the public on Thursday, July 8, 2021.

Regular office operations and hours for the VIEDA office on St. Croix will resume at 8AM on Friday, July 9, 2021.

The VIEDA team appreciates the understanding of the general public.

VIEDA Governing Board of Directors to meet for Governing Board Decision Meeting on July 8

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – July 7, 2021 — The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) Board of Directors will meet for a Governing Board Decision Meeting for the VI Economic Development Commission (VIEDC) and the Economic Development Bank (EDB) on Thursday, July 8, 2021 beginning at 9AM AST.

At this meeting, the Board of Directors will consider applications and compliance matters submitted to the VIEDC and the EDB. The VIEDC and the EDB are entities of the VIEDA.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – June 25, 2021 – The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority’s (VIEDA) Enterprise Zone Commission (EZC), in partnership with the Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources’ (VIDPNR) Virgin Islands Council on the Arts (VICA), will host the "Made in the USVI" Pop Up Shop on St. John from July 1-10, 2021 during the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.
