Governor Bryan Announces Administrative Leave for Virgin Islands Carnival

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has announced the Virgin Islands Carnival 2024 Schedule. On these dates during the Carnival season, government employees will be granted administrative leave, and Virgin Islands Government offices will be closed: 

Wednesday, May 1, 2024: Virgin Islands Carnival 2024 – Food Fair – All non-essential Executive Branch employees on the islands of St. Thomas/St. John will be granted administrative leave from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

VIEDA Governing Board Decision Meeting set for April 11

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – April 9, 2024 - Wayne L. Biggs, Jr., chief executive officer of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), announces that a Governing Board Decision Meeting for the Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission and the Enterprise Zone Commission will be held at 9AM on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Mac Private Equity Inc. is not a beneficiary of the VIEDC Tax Incentive Program, VIEDA CEO confirms

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – April 4, 2024 - Wayne L. Biggs Jr., Chief Executive Officer of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (“VIEDA”) denies any claims that Mac Private Equity Inc. or MPE Clearing & Holdings, Inc. are beneficiaries of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission’s (“VIEDC”) Tax Incentive Program.  VIEDA CEO Biggs’s denial is in response to an article published in the VI Consortium on April 3rd regarding a lawsuit filed in the District Court of the Virgin Islands against Mac Private Equity Inc.

Telephone services restored at V.I. Economic Development Authority office on St. Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – April 2, 2024 – The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) advises the public that the telephone service at the VIEDA office at 8000 Nisky Center, Suite No. 620 on St. Thomas, USVI, is now restored for the VIEDA team to make and receive external calls.  

For assistance, the public may call the VIEDA office at 340-714-1700 (St. Thomas) and 340-773-6499 (St. Croix).
