Governing Board Reconvenes VIEDC Decision Meeting on February 6, 2024

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – February 2, 2024 — Wayne L. Biggs, Jr., chief executive officer of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), announces that the decision meeting recessed on January 25, 2024 will reconvene on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 9:00 AM to consider application and compliance matters related to the Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission (VIEDC).  

VIEDA announces shortened office hours for January 31, 2024

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – January 30, 2024 — The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) informs the public that its offices in St. Croix and St. Thomas will close at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, for an agency-wide meeting. Normal business hours will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

VIEDA will close at noon on January 11, 2024 to Honor Employees during Appreciation Day

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – January 10, 2024 — The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) announces that its offices in St. Croix and St. Thomas will be closed to the public from 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 11, 2024 through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024, as the agency honors its team members during its annual Employee Appreciation Day activities. VIEDA offices will also be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and will resume normal business hours at 8:00 a.m.

Banco Popular Signs VI Slice MOA

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – January 3, 2024 — One of the Territory’s major lending institutions, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico (“Banco Popular”), has become the sixth local bank to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (“MOA”) with the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (“VIEDA”) to participate in the VI Slice Moderate Income Homeownership Program (“VI Slice”). This makes Banco Popular the second participating lender in the VI Slice program to offer construction loans.

VIEDA announces shortened office hours for Dec. 22 and office closure for holidays

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – December 22, 2023 — The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) informs the general public that its office hours today, December 22, 2023, are 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon in both the St. Croix and St. Thomas/St. John Districts. VIEDA offices will also be closed December 25-26, 2023, in observance of Christmas Day and Boxing Day respectively, and will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Made in the USVI Pop-Up Shop Opens its Doors in St. Thomas on December 14, 2023

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – December 12, 2023 — On the heels of a successful run in Frederiksted, St. Croix earlier this month, the Made in the USVI Pop-Up Shop is returning to St. Thomas on December 14, 2023. The Made in the USVI initiative, made possible through a continued partnership between the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority’s (VIEDA) Enterprise Zone Commission (EZC) and the Virgin Islands Council for the Arts (VICA), aims to support the Territory’s artisans and manufacturers.
