CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – June 2, 2025 — To continue sharing information with the U.S. Virgin Islands’ business community, both existing and aspiring entrepreneurs, about opportunities for local businesses to potentially receive financing supported by loan guarantees that can enhance, maintain or expand small-business operations for economic growth, the Economic Development Bank (EDB), a subsidiary of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), will host a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 5PM to 7PM on the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Program in the USVI. The deadline to register is Friday, June 6, 2025.
These Town Hall meetings will be held simultaneously on St. Thomas at the University of the Virgin Islands’ Laverne G. Ragster Administration and Academic Center (ACC building) on the Orville E. Kean Campus, and on St. Croix at the Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus.
The SSBCI Program, which is administered by the VIEDA and funded by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, offers the following programs Collateral Support Guarantee Program
- Loan Participation Program (LPP)
- Loan Guarantee Program (LGP)
- Payment, Surety and Performance Bond Program
These Town Hall Meetings will also include a panel discussion with participating lenders titled, “The Role of Lenders to the Small Business Community”.
The EDB encourages the USVI community and business owners to register and participate in these town hall meetings.
