VIEDA encourages EDC Eligible Virgin Islands Suppliers to submit annual filings

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – November 6, 2015 – To assist local small businesses in remaining in good standing as Eligible Suppliers of the Economic Development Commission (EDC), Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority, Wayne L. Biggs, Jr. is reminding all Eligible Virgin Islands Suppliers that all required annual filings must be submitted to the EDC to avoid decertification.

In accordance with EDC Rules and Regulations, Eligible Suppliers must annually submit to the EDC:

1) a current certificate of good standing or certificate of existence;

2) a trade name renewal certificate (if applicable); and

3) a current business license.

In addition, all Eligible Suppliers must submit to the EDC updated information relating to changes in their business’ status, which includes contact information such as physical, mailing and email addresses and contact numbers. Notification of a change in ownership and business closure are also required.

To remain in good standing, all suppliers who have not complied with this requirement are encouraged to contact the EDC to update their records.
