CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U. S. Virgin Islands – August 11, 2020 — The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (VIEDA) will host an informational webinar on resources from the Enterprise Zone Commission (EZC) for neighborhood revitalization and youth entrepreneurship during the COVID-19 pandemic. This webinar will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 via Zoom, a software-based platform for video and audio communications, and viewed LIVE through Facebook livestream at www.facebook.org/usvieda.

Who should participate:  EZC clients, enterprise zone small-business owners and residents, entrepreneurs and established local manufacturers.

The USVI enterprise zones are Garden Street-Upstreet and Savanane-Downstreet on St. Thomas, and Christiansted and Frederiksted on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.

This webinar will feature main presenter Nadine T. Marchena Kean, managing director, Enterprise Zone Commission, an entity of the VIEDA.

The discussion will highlight:

1.     what the EZC is, its purpose and what programs are available at the EZC

2.    how to apply for EZC programs and services especially during COVID-19

3.    updates regarding EntrepreNOW and how this program can spark an interest

in entrepreneurship among our young men in the community

4.    available financing for residents and business owners to help revitalize USVI    

       distressed neighborhoods and towns
