VIEDA reminds VIEDC Eligible Suppliers to Submit Annual Filings

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – May 12, 2020 – To assist local small businesses in remaining in good standing as Eligible Suppliers of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Commission (VIEDC), Chief Executive Officer of the Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority, Kamal I. Latham, reminds all Eligible Virgin Islands Suppliers that all required annual filings must be submitted to the VIEDC to avoid decertification.

In accordance with VIEDC Rules and Regulations, Eligible Suppliers must annually submit to the VIEDC:

  1. Certificate of Good Standing or Certificate of Existence;
  2. A current copy of their USVI Business License; and
  3. Shall comply with any and all reasonable requests from the Commission, especially relating to goods and/or services provided to the Beneficiary

In addition, all Eligible VI Suppliers must submit to the VIEDC updated information relating to changes in their business’ status, which includes contact information such as physical, mailing and email addresses and contact numbers. Notification of a change in ownership and business closure are also required.

To remain in good standing, all suppliers who have not complied with this requirement are encouraged to contact the VIEDC to update their records.

An Eligible Virgin Islands Supplier is a person, firm or partnership, or corporation that is a responsible U.S. Virgin Islands supplier of goods or services that has been licensed to do business and has conducted business in the USVI for at least one year and physically maintains its principal place of business in the USVI at the date of certification.
